We built a barn for the RV, decided to get llama’s so built a barn for them and finally built one for our tractor, a truck and the llama trailer.  The prior photo was taken in 2008 and shows some of our land, the living snow fences we planted, and the “corn circle” where we feed almost a hundred mule deer everyday during the winter.

We got into llama’s primarily for the fiber – we shear them and Dolores spins it into yarn which she uses for weaving and knitting.  But we also have taken our two older boys hiking which was a lot of fun except the darker llama (Gray Kloud) was a rascal and didn’t want to carry his pack…poor Mancha Man, the lighter appaloosa in the picture, did all the work!

We have been lucky enough to have Steve’s parents visit on many occasions, especially when we have Frontier Days – a week long rodeo and musical event in Cheyenne, every July.  This picture was taken in Deadwood, South Dakota, when we went to see Mount Rushmore and rode on an 1812 steam locomotive.

Mary Repman also made it to Frontier Days one year, enjoying the Native American village and one of the huge parades!

Now we come to the last few years. For the last seven years Steve has been traveling almost all the time!  With the sale of the company to MetLife effective February 1st, 2008, he is “retiring” again and hoping to spend more time with Dolores and enjoying his many other interests, including model trains, learning to play the drums, implementing wind and solar power and helping animals.  Dolores continues to pursue her creative interests, painting commissioned pet portraits.

Well that concludes our first 25 years.  We have another 35 years on our original wedding contract before we can renegotiate and Dolores says she has a list of proposed amendments ready!

We feel extremely lucky having found each other and had so much fun and good fortune.  We look forward to adding the next chapter to this book – “The Second 25 Years….it is a fairytale!”
