We moved into our condo and Steve and Dolores both changed jobs – Steve went to Tenneco West and Dolores first to Williams Brothers Pipeline and then Kern County Schools as Chief Accountant.

All was happy in Bakersfield in the land of Baker….

By this time we had Smoky and Bandit, a couple of Cockatiels and all three cats, Natasha, Sabrina and Cassandra.

Dolores started to feel she wanted a more creative career and began to learn to play the piano.

Steve was getting bored with his job too so we decided to try moving south to Los Angeles and try something new…Steve joined Touche Ross as a consultant and Dolores went to school and worked in interior design – with some famous clients including  Kareem Abdul Jabar, Harrison Ford….

We first moved to an apartment in Playa del Rey and then to a house in Inglewood.

Dolores took some Hypnosis training and started thinking that psychology was more her field.  Steve began traveling every week to Rochester, MN to consult with Mayo Clinic.

Several trips to England happened around this time - for weddings, vacations and Christmas.  Drinks with the Lads happened a few times during these visits too!

Dolores got a very fashionable (at the time) duffle coat when Steve went alone to Grampy’s funeral.

Readers may have noticed all the different hairstyles!  Steve with less hair over time and with and without his beard are nothing compared to Dolores’ changing hairstyles….short, long, curly, blonde…..
